Marriage is...

Marriage is a life,
A life lived not for yourself,
But for the one who holds your heart.

Marriage is a bond and a friendship,
One that is unrivaled by another,
another In this world.

Marriage is a source of grace,
And hope for sharing love
That knows no bounds.

Marriage is not a mere season,
But a calendar of decades
Planned for a lifetime of adventure.

Marriage is a celebration
of the perfect unity
found only in the mystery of our creator.

Today Jeanine and I look back over five years of marriage in amazement at how love can grow! I'm so thankful for this beautiful gift... This lovely lady!

4 years ago this week...

This was the scene in our lives four years ago this week. After an awesome celebration we were off to the Dominican and a week later we found ourselves newly married in Wilmore. It's seriously crazy to think that four years have already gone by and how much our lives have changed in that time. To really see the growth in our own lives and in our marriage some times we have to stop and take a retrospective look. As we've taken this week to celebrate, remember, relax and plan, my love for Jeanine continues to deepen and I look forward to what the future holds. More than that, I cherish today and each day that I get to be married to this wonderful woman, this child of God. This is the scene four years later, with the echoes of the waves, the expanse of the ocean, and The Lord standing, touching, close...we reaffirm our love and committment to each other. It is only from here that we can take our next steps forward.
Celebrate Marriage, Celebrate Today!

41st Anniversary of His 29th Birthday

Today our family is celebrating my grandpa Barney's 41st Anniversary of His 29th Birthday. (His 70th birthday but don't tell him.) Jeanine and I got to spend the day with him yesterday riding the waves of the New River...he's the only one in the family that didn't flip the whole day. Check out this short video of some whitewater fun with Barney.

To the man who always picked me up for church, taught me to fly airplanes, always tied my ties, and taught me to do the same, taught me how to paddle a kayak and the man who's socks I'm wearing even this morning as I get ready for church (I forgot to pack mine) - Happy Birthday, I mean anniversary! Thank you! Love you, Grandpa Barney!!
